HMRC have reminded agents and taxpayers that their bank accounts have changed.
From tomorrow (9 August 2011), the Bank of England accounts will no longer be available for use and any payments directed to these accounts after that date will be automatically rejected by the banking system and returned to the payer’s bank. This will result in delay and risks the imposition of late payment penalties and interest.
Details of the correct accounts to be used can be found on HMRC’s website.
