She could perhaps be best described as an information technology 'geek' and she had a very interesting idea which if it came to fruition could be worth a substantial amount of money and could potentially yield a very high income stream. She is considering various angles with regards to this idea such as how to protect it (I presume that a computer program would be her copyright but whether it can be patented I am unsure) but she was also of course wondering about the potential tax issues.
Every so often I read in the papers that the shares in the companies of certain well-known entrepreneurs are actually owned by an offshore trust.
I think that my 'client' would prefer to remain resident...
