The single customer account delivery remains on course to be completed by June 2025, according to a Treasury minutes progress report (see page 75). The account will include:
- new features so taxpayers can manage more of their PAYE income, allowances, benefits, and deductions digitally;
- improved digital services to help taxpayers manage their self-assessment returns or appeals online;
- an improved account for individuals with new features to help them understand their tax obligations; and
- new text, email, and push notifications to reassure taxpayers about their tax affairs and reduce the need to contact HMRC by telephone.
These minutes are a record of the government’s progress on implementing the recommendations from the Public Accounts Committee.
