Granular permissions in agent services accounts

HMRC is developing granular permissions in the agent services account (ASA) that will allow agents to control who in their business can access client records with the option to opt in or out of using it. It is aimed specifically at supporting small to medium sized agents with up to 1 000 clients.

This new tool will be released to a small number of agents for testing first.

Agents who are not part of the testing can still prepare for when it becomes available to all agents. To prepare they will need to have an administrator role in their ASA. Only administrators will have access to this new feature from the ‘manage account’ section on the ASA home page once they have logged in.
