Labour has appointed an expert panel to advise on the party’s work on improving tax compliance and modernising HMRC.
Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves recently announced plans to raise more than £5bn a year by closing the gap between the amount of tax owed and collected - see Labour’s plan to close the tax gap. To help deliver on this the party has appointed a panel of independent experts to inform the party’s plans for government including improving tax compliance and modernising and digitising HMRC’s offer.
