The Autumn Finance Bill 2023 and explanatory notes were published on 29 November 2022. The bill has 38 clauses and 13 schedules. It legislates for the key tax changes announced at the Autumn Statement, including full expensing, extension of enterprise investment scheme and venture capital trust reliefs, research and development and cash basis.
Most tax changes in the Bill will take effect from April 2024.
The Bill received its first reading on 27 November and will now follow the normal passage through parliament.
