  • From 6 April 2016 a new student loan plan became due for repayment.
  • New obligations for public authorities that hire off-payroll contractors agencies and others that supply contractors.
  • A new process of collecting or repaying tax has been introduced allowing in-year adjustments.
  • A digital registration service enables employers to ‘payroll’ a range of benefits in kind.
  • From May 2018 employers and all parts of business will be affected by the General Data Protection Regulations.

There was a time when payroll processing was deemed a simple task. When technology became part of normal life and with every desktop sporting a PC it was even seen (by some) as just ‘a matter of pushing buttons’.
