Charities

HMRC has published a new version of the charity tax relief model declaration.

 

MPAA

The government has confirmed it will reduce the money purchase annual allowance (MPAA) to £4 000 from £10 000 from 6 April.

 

Interest rate

The Taxes (Interest Rate) (Amendment) Regulations SI 2017/305 reduce the official rate of interest applicable to employment-related beneficial loans from 3% to 2.5% a year from 6 April.

 

Cash basis

The Income Tax (Relevant Maximum for Calculating Trade Profits on the Cash Basis) Order SI 2017/293 increases the entry threshold for the cash basis to £150 000 (£300 000 for universal credit claimants) from 6 April. The exit threshold will increase to £300 000.

 

VAT

The taxable turnover threshold for VAT registration will increase to £85 000 on 1 April. It was previously £83 000. The deregistration...
