What about security?

Like me you probably spent much of last week trying to get to grips with the implications of the long-awaited HMRC digital strategy documents. On page 8 of this week’s Taxation  Rebecca Benneyworth explains in the first of an occasional series of articles what it means in practice.

I won’t steal Rebecca’s thunder so will leave her to summarise the key developments. I will just mention a couple of angles here. The first is data security. When discussing the documents with colleagues data security was mentioned as a major concern by two people. They are both of the internet generation but were entirely opposed to having to use a smartphone app to record data because of concerns about the ease with which data can be hacked.
