The reform of the IR35 legislation for public sector organisations using PSCs.

HMRC taskforces have recovered more than £540m since they were introduced five years ago. Some £250m was raised in 2015/16, almost double the previous year’s yield (£138.1m).

Since 2011, HMRC has launched more than 140 taskforces targeting sectors including retail, the tobacco industry and adult entertainment. In 2015, a taskforce focused on income tax led to 45 arrests for tax evasion and fraud.

Taskforces bring together various HMRC compliance and enforcement teams for intensive bursts of activity targeted at specific sectors and locations where there is evidence of a high risk of tax evasion and fraud.
