Making Tax Digital

HMRC has postponed the consultations on Making Tax Digital until after the EU referendum.


Armed forces

The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group has produced a printable guide and website material to assist serving military personnel veterans their families and advisers to check that they are paying the correct tax. See here.


Indirect taxes

EY has launched a global indirect tax microsite ‘Managing indirect taxes in the digital age’ . The topics addressed include e-commerce and indirect tax challenges; increasing ‘digital blur’ and evolving tax business models; changes in VAT and GST laws; and the impact of the base erosion and profit shifing recommendations on customs duty.


Phishing

HMRC has updated its guidance on how to recognise phishing and bogus emails and text messages .
