Some people say: “What is the problem with avoidance? It is legal.” This misses the point that most avoidance schemes do not work and people who try to avoid tax are therefore likely to be making incorrect tax returns. It also misses the point that just because something is legal does not mean it is the right thing to do. If you avoid tax you are shifting more of the tax burden to your fellow citizens who are not trying to dodge...
