HMRC’s latest Agent Update contains a roundup of news and consultations.
It also contains an update on working together – no open issues have been added or closed since the last update.
In the same section there is an item on personal tax accounts. It states that non-business digital self-assessment taxpayers will move from your tax account to the personal tax account. HMRC states that “in future” self-employed taxpayers and those who pay business taxes will also be given access to their personal tax account.
The article adds that the personal tax account is not designed for use by agents. HMRC says it “will be improving the service to provide agents access” but until then they should not try to access it on behalf of clients.
