Members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) are to get their own HMRC helpline aimed at providing answers about alternative dispute resolution (ADR) – but only for a day.

The dedicated service will be offered by the Revenue at the end of this month, on a date yet to be confirmed, with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of the ADR system.

The dedicated service will be offered by the Revenue at the end of this month, on a date yet to be confirmed, with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of the ADR system.

Employees of the taxman’s facilitator team will discuss in pre-arranged calls the resolution scheme generally or answer queries with reference to specific cases. Each appointment will be confidential and last for around 15 minutes.

CIOT members must book by emailing technical officer Margaret Curran no later than 23 April. Include a brief outline of the desired conversation topic and a contact number.
