I was just about to go away on holiday. Before putting the car in the garage for a couple of weeks I decided that I really ought to fill up with petrol just in case. Yes I know that this is the very thought process that can lead to a shortage but to quote from (the great) Catch 22:
'But suppose everyone felt that way.'
'Then I'd be a damned fool to feel any other way wouldn't I?'
This thought aside recent weeks have been enlightening suddenly people have become very interested in tax. But the fuel protests are not the only example although it is the highest profile one.
