HOW EASY IT is to bash HMRC when different reports from different sources provide not very edifying reading on problems with HMRC procedures. So how refreshing it is nay surprising even to come across a report in which HMRC actually comes out well. Yes that may be difficult to believe but this is the case with a recent report on inheritance tax. Furthermore just to show that Taxation takes an even-handed approach to HMRC the following paragraphs highlight the reports findings.
The research was commissioned in January 2005 when HMRC asked British Market Research Bureau Social Research to carry out a survey of taxpayers and professional advisers who had had to deal with inheritance tax. The aim was to discover how satisfied taxpayers were with the service...
