  • If you have clients who are performers and currently treated as employees for National  Insurance purposes warn them they are going to be transferred to self-employment status which may affect their future rights to benefits.
     
  • Make sure clients in the flat-rate scheme are aware they must contact you if they know or suspect they are going to go over the turnover limit. If it is a one-off they may be able to stay in the scheme but it is unwise to rely on the clients to make that decision without advice.  
     
  • Note that HMRC’s view is the substantial shareholding...
