A new digital service for taxpayers in the PAYE system is set to be launched in April 2014 – and HMRC are looking for people willing to help with testing.
The department wants the help of workers with business vehicles and employers who have staff with company cars: the initial version of the service enables users to tell the Revenue about changes to company vehicles and fuel benefits.

The call for testers comes in the latest issue of Employer Bulletin, with which HMRC announce they no longer issue age exception certificates (CA4140) to confirm a person has reached state pension age and is no longer liable to pay Class 1 National Insurance.
Employers will need to retain a copy of the employee’s birth certificate or passport as evidence of date of birth to prove employee Class 1 contributions are not payable.
The Revenue expects a further reduction in the range of forms available from the employer order line from next year.
The department will continue provide a new range of paper items specifically for firms that have been accepted as exempt from digital interaction or as unable to do business electronically.
