Michael Gove recently criticised parents for being happy their children were more interested in reading Twilight than Middlemarch. Unlike Mr Gove Taxation rarely suggests what people do in their free time. Nevertheless his exhortations have inspired me to turn to a book I hope he will accept as a classic: A Tale of Two Cities.
