AB (TC1527)

AB joined a large firm of accountants EF in June 2000 as a partner designate and became an equity partner in 2006 around which time her office was merged with another resulting in the departure of several tax partners and staff members.

AB continued to bring in new clients and record high chargeable hours but did not feel she received due recognition while less successful male partners were rewarded.

She was eventually diagnosed with stress took sick leave and did not return to EF. She claimed she had been treated unfairly and ascribed this to sex discrimination.

AB claimed compensation and began proceedings before the Employment Tribunal.

She and EF agreed a settlement and she withdrew her claim. Under the agreement AB received a share of profits including basic salary of £63 333 and an additional amount of £170...
