To promote their business and increase sales, a toyshop has arranged that a friend of the owners will act as Father Christmas for a few weeks

My clients own a toyshop. Although Christmas is usually a busy time sales have been down this year and they have been looking for ways to boost their sales.

To this end they have engaged a ‘Father Christmas’. The gentleman involved is a friend of the owners.

The shop is open seven days a week but they have agreed with Father Christmas that he will appear for five days a week and will stay for a certain number of hours.

The exact hours are up to Father Christmas but he has agreed that each week he will give advance notice of the days and hours that he will work during the following week so that the shop owners can then advertise this ‘forthcoming attraction’.
