Three sisters

Three sisters have inherited a house. One of them has suggested to the others that she be allowed to live there until her death, in return for which the property will then pass to her sisters’ children

My client (Ms A) is one of three sisters (Ms A Ms B and Ms C). My client’s widowed mother died a little while ago and left her estate to my client and her sisters in equal proportions.

The estate consisted primarily of a large house. The other assets have been divided equally but it has taken some time for the property to be cleared out and tidied up with a view to it being sold.

My client has had a successful career and Ms B married into a wealthy family and both have enough income and capital for their present and foreseeable needs.

Both Ms A and Ms B have one child each. Ms C is apparently not as wealthy as her sisters although I get the impression that she may have an estate that might potentially be...
