An industrial unit was partitioned into two separate areas, one of which the owner uses while the other is let out

My client has purchased a large unit on an industrial estate which he has partitioned into two separate areas. About one-half of the floor area is occupied by my client’s trading company.

The other half is occupied by a business which is operated by a friend of my client who is a sole trader.

The partitioning is reasonably temporary and could be removed in a couple of days if required or if say the unit was to be sold with vacant possession. As part of the partitioning work the electrical circuit was subdivided into two separately metered circuits one for each half.

Before moving in the floor of the unit which had apparently become worn and damaged was screeded and covered in a special non-slip epoxy resin flooring surface.
