Since April 2006, the Independent Police Complaints Commission’s (IPCC) remit has included serious complaints, conduct matters and death and serious injury matters in relation to HMRC staff.
The IPCC is compiling statutory guidance for HMRC linked to the Revenue and Customs (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2010, which will serve as a tool through which the IPCC sets the standards for dealing with these matters.
The commission has published the guidance for consultation, which ends on 20 June.
