CT61 was nowhere to be found

I went to complete my CT61 this month but the form was nowhere to be found. I rang HMRC only to be told that they have a new computer system that takes all its addresses from Companies House and that they can only post forms CT61 to the company’s registered address.

Oh well. That explains where the form went to: my accountant is sitting on it.

I subsequently thought I had solved the problem by filling in the ‘if you wish future CT61 returns to be sent to a new address enter this here’ box on the form with our address. But no. HMRC have written as follows.

‘Thank you for your recent request to change the contact/postal address for issue of future CT61 returns.

‘Unfortunately we are unable to change these details as the return must be sent to the address registered...
