HMRC is set to run more free Learning Together half-day events for tax advisers and Revenue staff members.
The first two seminars will cover HMRC agent services, focusing on the range of free services that they provide to support tax advisers, such as agent-dedicated and priority telephone lines and the client-specific issue resolution service, as well as a demonstration of the new Revenue toolkits.
The events will take place in February in London and Oxford, beginning at 9.30am.
The second set of seminars will look at the taxman's risk assessment and compliance checks, including:
- How HMRC select cases for compliance checks.
- What types of compliance checks the department will use to make sure that taxpayers get things right.
- The Revenue's powers to request and examine information from taxpayers and third parties, including inspection of business premises, assets and documents.
The events will take place in March in Plymouth, Preston, Tonbridge and Sheffield, starting at 9am.
