The deadline date of 9 June 2009 for the single farm payment scheme is, in fact, the ‘final, final’ deadline, after which no applications are accepted at all.
Correct applications received by Defra by the normal 15 May deadline will be paid in full.
Those received in the following 25 days will be paid, but subjected to a deduction of 1% for each working day – which gives a maximum possible deduction this year of 16%.
The guidance booklet (Single Payment Scheme Handbook and Guidance for England 2009) clearly defines non-working days as weekends and bank holidays.
