Number of HMRC penalty notices issued for 2006-07 SA returns

Penalty notices issued - some cancelled, some capped

HMRC issued penalty notices to 1,110,023 taxpayers for failing to file 2006-07 self assessment tax returns to the end of December 2008.

Of that number, 85,175 notices were cancelled and 317,849 taxpayers had their penalties capped.
