'Further evidence that the Revenue isn’t working'

I refer to the news item Client information sheets withdrawn.

This latest announcement from HMRC their seasonal message of goodwill to those of us who actually do 99.9% of their work is further evidence that the department isn’t working or at any rate not working to serve taxpayers.

I note that we now have to use the HMRC ‘view account’ facility to check statements.

This was of course the facility that crashed and was not available to us for around three or four months last spring.

It would be helpful if HMRC could deign to recognise that they exist to serve the public and that in order for the public to keep a track of what they HMRC are up to and to correct their errors/maladministration it is helpful for agents to have statements of account.

I can quite understand HMRC...
