What better place to relax after a hard day's work? David Marcussen explains to RICHARD CURTIS why his tax boutique is in the spa city of Bath

Bath is a unique city; its hot springs Roman Baths splendid abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries.

Set in rolling Somerset countryside just over 100 miles west of London it is a beautiful and unforgettable place to visit.

That's what Bath Tourist Office says and who am I to argue? I'm not quite sure that David Marcussen made a tour of the country's tourist offices before he decided to establish his boutique tax consultancy — Marcussen Consulting LLP — in Bath but now I think of it I'll bet that there are a lot of tax practitioners out there who wished that their employer had.

David likes to make sure that his staff have a pleasant working environment and opened his office in a brewery. OK it's a disused brewery but it offers the old world surroundings of some...
