Employers are required to submit an end of year return to HMRC which consists of a P35 that is supported by at least one valid P14.

Some employers may also have to submit a P38A if they have paid people outside of the payroll under certain circumstances.

The current deadline for the return to reach HMRC and be accepted is 19 May 2008 for the 2007-08 tax year. Penalties may arise for late submission.

Since 2004-05 online filing has become mandatory initially for large employers but now for all but small employers. There are additional penalties...
