Income shifting

Andrew Hubbard said that now the threat of immediate legislation had been withdrawn more work should be done on the possibility of taxing all small businesses as if they were partnerships.

Incorporation would then be a commercial and not a tax matter and it would solve many benefit in kind and loan account problems.

Money laundering

Heather Brehcist said that the legal opinion the CIOT and ATT had received is that their members are relevant professionals for the purpose of legal professional privilege under the Act.
