Trying to be retiring

We have a client who, due to ill health, will need to cease trading. He is in his mid-fifties. His family company (himself and wife as the only shareholders) has substantial reserves so we need to do some careful planning on how these reserves might be used to fund our client's needs for the future.

We have a client who due to ill health will need to cease trading. He is in his mid-fifties. His family company (himself and wife as the only shareholders) has substantial reserves so we need to do some careful planning on how these reserves might be used to fund our client's needs for the future.
As part of this we contacted the Pension Service (PS) for a forecast of future pension entitlement. In response we were advised that the change in the pension rules requires a change to PS systems and in consequence the PS will only deal with requests from those at or near pension age until at the earliest May. Their website seems to suggest even longer.
As an alternative we contacted the National Insurance Contributions Office to see if we could at least get some confirmation of the number...
