MIKE TRUMAN launches Taxation's new Stop the Staff Cuts campaign

Dear Dave

Can I first congratulate you on your appointment as acting Chairman of HMRC although it was sad to lose Paul Gray in such unfortunate circumstances. The consistent comment that we have received has been that his resignation was typical of his integrity and sense of duty which brought him great respect within the tax profession.

You also have a clear reputation as someone who speaks his mind and will tell the truth even to those who do not want to hear it. So I am writing to tell you of a campaign which Taxation is launching and in the hope that the issue we are raising will be one that you will also be prepared to support.

We are going to ask our readers to back a campaign to stop the proposed staff cuts in HMRC. The loss of around 13 000 jobs since...
