You like aboriginal art you like lager you like GST surfing and marsupials. People have many reasons for wanting to go to Australia or New Zealand to live and work (the latter for most of us being a necessary but unfortunate adjunct to the former) and the tax specialist is no different in that regard to the art-lover surfer dude or fancier of small furry animals.

In the same way that the UK — and London in particular — seems to be a destination of choice for Australians and New Zealanders — presumably because they like over-priced housing crowded public transport warm beer VAT and seeing us lose at various sports — we 'poms' seem to gravitate to the Antipodes. What can I say; 'opposites attract' I guess. So what makes the UK tax specialist want to leave for the other...
