HMRC have decided to shut down the following helplines: the CIS orderline, the subcontractors helpline, and the contractors helpline

Following the introduction of the construction industry scheme reform measures in April 2007, HMRC have decided to close the following helplines: the CIS orderline, the subcontractors helpline, and the contractors helpline.
The subcontractors helpline closed on 21 August 2007. Callers ringing this number now hear a message advising them to call the new CIS helpline (0845 366 7899) for enquiries about construction industry work undertaken since 6 April 2007 or the self-assessment helpline (0845 900 0444) for enquiries about construction industry work done before 6 April 2007 or regarding the completion of their tax return.
HMRC will announce dates for the closure of the CIS orderline and contractors helpline in due course.
