Updates augment CT Online

HMRC have made recent enhancements to their Corporation Tax (CT) Online service.

As a result, companies and their authorised agents can:

  • add or change daytime/evening telephone and mobile numbers, fax and e-mail contact details for the company's registered office address and for any communication address;
  • add or delete communication name and address details (other than the registered office).

In addition, companies, but not authorised agents, can add, change or remove an authorised agent. Unincorporated associations can change their names and addresses. Agents can change their own addresses and contact details.
To use these services, the user has to log in using his user ID and password and select 'About your organisation' from his CT Online service page.
HMRC say that using these online services is secure and that any changes taxpayers make will update HMRC's records within 48 hours, although this may take longer over a weekend or bank holiday.
HMRC advise that the underlying software that allows users to amend their details was not designed to run using Internet Explorer 7, and anyone using IE7 may find that the web pages do not look as intended, but the services will work.
