KEY POINTS * The Budget is a good opportunity to demonstrate a firm's expertise. * Give general information first then target specific types of client. * Make sure that staff understand how Budget changes will affect clients.

THE LAST DECADE has seen continuing low levels of political engagement among the British public. This comes in spite of efforts to make politics more accessible with the use of celebrities and music personalities prepared to declare who they vote for. Even so the apathy prevails and to a certain extent this ambivalence towards Government announcements extends to the Budget.
