MIKE TRUMAN looks at the pass list for last November's CTA exam.

THE CIOT HAVE issued the pass list for its November 2005 examinations. 270 candidates passed the examination out of a total of 663 candidates with 85 being referred. The Institute President Peter Kempster congratulated the successful candidates and said that he was delighted that the pass rate (41%) was higher than it had been recently.

Prizewinners

The prizewinners were as follows:

  • The Institute Medal for the candidate with the best overall performance across all four papers was awarded to Abhijay Singh Jain of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Cambridge.
     Abhijay also won the LexisNexis Butterworths Prize for the candidate with the highest total marks across all the papers and was the only candidate to be awarded a distinction.
  • The Ian Walker Medal for the candidate with the highest mark across all the papers in Paper I — General Taxation...
