The CIOT London branch held its annual quiz on 15 December. The questions were set by Keith Gordon, and Mr Justice Andrew Park presided.
The quiz produced a dead heat between the Motley Crew, a team from the Tax Law Rewrite project, and Green Dot, the Deloitte team. The tiebreaker was therefore the caption competition for a cartoon provided by Taxation's cartoonist, John Byrne, and the caption provided by the Motley Crew was judged the better of the two.
The best caption, however, shown with the cartoon, was from Jim Andrews of the Beavis and Butthead team.
I know these PAYE inspectors are necessary but after all these years, can't we give Santa a dispensation for travelling expenses?
