Marketing the Revenue
Ian Schoolar has been appointed as the Inland Revenue's first director of marketing (a challenging role if ever there was one) as part of a major new communications initiative.
Ian's role will be to develop the Revenue's understanding of the needs and nature of its growing customer base. He will oversee all key aspects of the Revenue's communications work including leaflets and forms press advertising the Internet and internal communications with the Revenue's own staff.
Ian began his career with Tate & Lyle in 1967 as a research biochemist. He has since progressed through various advertising agencies before joining Nat West Bank as head of brand communications in 1991. Ian is married and was educated at Edinburgh University.
