At least it is not just me then! I shared many of the experiences of Robert Maas – and more – with this abominable HMRC software. You have to wonder how they test this stuff.

Oh stupid me I am testing it for them at my expense and loss of sanity.

I have only three corporation tax returns to submit and thought I would use the HMRC software rather than buy commercial software:

  • an exercise I thought would be simple takes several hours for each return;
  • the saving of processed stages of the return urgently needs looking at: it is cumbersome and confusing;
  • the capital allowances pool calculation does not work with investment allowances claimed and I sent a note to HMRC about that months ago on a feedback email;
