HMRC have launched a webinar to show the connection between the completeness and accuracy of a self assessment (SA) tax return and the quality of supporting records.
Self Assessment Tax Returns – Expenses Risks and Concerns is aimed at all agents, especially new advisers and those who file SA returns for small and medium-sized enterprises that include expenses claims.

Small and medium-sized high-tech companies are being invited to free workshops organised by HMRC and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to offer support on tax, growth and innovation.
The events will be held in March, April, May and June in Cambridge, Leicester, Reading, Plymouth, Oxford, Sheffield, Portsmouth and Scotland.

HMRC will be holding business-and-employer advice days at the end of March. The informal events will provide a chance to meet the Revenue’s team of tax advisers, listen to talks on a range of tax subjects, and ask questions about the department’s rules and procedures.
Topics to be covered include self-employment, VAT, first steps as an employer and real-time information.
