I'm hearing persistent rumours that the Budget is going to be fairly early; 12 March seems to be the favourite date. Now you might think that was because of Easter being so early. But, like many schools, the House of Commons is taking its Easter break in early April. So there's no need to have an early Budget, and, with all the consultations that run until late February, every reason to have it later. You might hope, at the very least, that the Treasury would give us a fair amount of warning. Don't hold your breath. We've been here before.
