I must admit that when I started going through my client list to see who would qualify for government support as a result of the coronavirus lockdown my thinking was biased about those I hoped would qualify. This is not based on any personal favourites but because I have acted for them for so long that I know all about their lifestyles and whether they are short of a bob or two. It felt a bit like watching Final Score on a Saturday afternoon – it’s always good to see the underdog win.

Before starting on the numbers I identified one client who genuinely needs support in these difficult times and the good news is that she will qualify for self-employment income support. I also identified another who I thought would qualify but doesn’t need the money...
