The Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, intends to set out a ‘medium-term fiscal plan’ on 23 November 2022 and deliver a full Budget in spring 2023, with both expected to include economic forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility.
Meanwhile, because of the recent financial turmoil, including in the gilt markets, HM Treasury is currently fully indemnifying the Bank of England’s temporary buying back of long-dated UK government bonds to 'restore orderly market conditions'.
