Revenue and Customs Brief 5/2023 confirms that, from 1 May 2023, medical services carried out by non-registered staff directly supervised by pharmacists are exempt from VAT.
This change, which was announced in the 2023 Budget, brings the VAT treatment of pharmacists in line with other registered health professionals providing medical services to the public.
It does not affect medical services that are already exempt from VAT.
