Understanding the three Rs for accountants.

Back in the day the three Rs meant Reading wRiting and aRithmetic (due to how they sound apparently!). Nowadays it’s all about Reducing Reusing and Recycling.

When I talk about the three Rs of professional success I mean the importance of being Remembered Referred and Recommended.

Quite simply you will not secure referrals and recommendations unless people remember you. And you need to establish a positive memorable impression as there is little point in being remembered if you are not also being referred and recommended.

If you can stand out in a positive way then you have the potential to secure a competitive advantage over other accountants. Many of them perpetuate the myth that all accountants are the same. This is often because they have confused the commonality of the accounts and tax returns clients get with the style...
