Trusts
HMRC has updated the guidance ‘Manage your trust’s details’ to confirm which details can and cannot be changed using the online service by lead trustees settlors protectors or other individuals. Information has also been added about the details that can be changed by trustees who have ownership of a controlling interest of a non-European Economic Area company.
Film industry
A 40% business rates relief for film studios in England is available from 17 February 2025. Eligible film studios will receive the 40% reduction until 2034 with the relief backdated to 1 April 2024 where applicable. Local authorities will implement the relief automatically for qualifying properties and it will be inclusive of transitional relief ensuring that final bills do not exceed 60% of the gross bill.
