Overseas pensions

HMRC has updated the list of schemes that meet the conditions to be a recognised overseas pension scheme (ROPS). It has added 23 schemes and removed seven.

Anti-money laundering

The CIOT has published its response to the Treasury consultation on improving the effectiveness of the Money Laundering Regulations. It broadly agrees with the suggested measures and areas for change but in collaboration with the Accountancy AML Supervisors’ Group notes there some areas that the consultation has not considered. These concern the requirement to be supervised fines and sanctions and director verification.
